After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts- Fine Arts/Studio Arts degree from The University of Southern California, Liane Barr has been photographing colorful landscapes and seascapes since 1995.
While searching for unique subjects and compositions using natural "magic" light, Liane is able to capture magical moments that lie within nature's backyards and photograph by painting with light.
After capturing the rare electrical thunderstorm that struck the skies over Manhattan Beach, CA during the early morning of August 15th, 2008, Liane's "Lighting Bolt Image" (wrapped perfectly around a palm tree) was published in the local newspaper, "The Beach Reporter" (August 21, 2008 issue). This rare image was featured with the "Summer Showers" editorial on page 3. This weekly local newspaper has a total circulation of over 55,000 and is the largest weekly newspaper serving the Beach Cities.
In addition, Liane's saturated sunset and seascape shots have been published on the Front Covers of the "South Bay Monthly Magazine" (September 2008, October 2008, December 2008, December 2009, (3) issues January 2010 and (2) issues this coming February 2010. Each 'direct mail' publication reaches over 45,000 South Bay residences and local businesses every 2 weeks.
Liane is currently represented at "Lisa's Gallery" (fine art and framing gallery) located at 217 Manhattan Beach Blvd., Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, Phone (310) 545-5312. The local gallery features fine art by local artists, "unique" one of a kind gifts and high-end quality custom framing.
Liane specializes in outdoor portrait, landscape, nature and wildlife photography using digital media and prints her own images from her own art studio located in Manhattan Beach, CA.
